Vodkadinaviaの生産工場がある地域の名前でインドネシアの首都ジャカルタから東に車で約1時間ほどの距離。

このBEKASIはデザイナーがインドネシアに来て初めて試作品として、依頼したデザイン。職人さんたちとの信頼(PERCAYA)で始まったVodkadinavia、本当の作品作りという意味での始まりは、このBEKASIからスタートしている。

初期の作品達は、作品作りには欠かせなかった地名や、出来事から命名。

【バティックレザー】
バティック柄をレザーに刻印する技術は、比較的近代になってから発展したもの。インドネシアのバティック自体は古くからあり、ユネスコ無形文化遺産にも登録されているが、レザーへの応用はより現代の技術とデザインの革新によるもの。

バティックはもともとジャワ島で発展し、主に衣服に用いられてきた。伝統的なバティックの製法では、布にワックスを使って模様を描き、染料が染み込まないようにしてから染めるという手法が用いられる。レザーへの応用は、特にエンボス加工技術が発展した20世紀後半以降に見られるようになったと考えられている。

インドネシアの結婚式では、バティックレザーを使用した革靴が使用される事もある事から、非常に縁起が良いものであり、インドネシアの伝統的な技術をふんだんに使用した作品。

全商品はオールレザーの商品ですので、使用頂くほど艶が出て参ります。

中敷とアッパーの内側には主にスニーカーなどに使用されるウレタンシートを使用しており、着用包み込まれるような感覚で履いて頂けます。

Bekasi is the location of the Vodkadinavia factory, about an hour's drive east of Jakarta, Indonesia. It's where the designer first started creating prototypes, leading to the establishment of trust with the artisans and the birth of the Vodkadinavia brand. The initial products were named after important places and events in their creation.

Batik Leather:
The technique of embossing batik patterns on leather is relatively modern. Although Indonesian batik itself has ancient origins and is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, its application to leather relies on more contemporary technologies and innovations in design.

Originally developed in Java, batik has primarily been used for clothing. The traditional batik process involves using wax to create patterns on fabric, which then prevents dye from penetrating the unwaxed areas. The use of batik on leather, particularly through embossing techniques, is thought to have developed in the latter half of the 20th century.

In Indonesian weddings, it's not uncommon to see leather shoes made with batik leather, which are considered very auspicious. These products utilize traditional Indonesian techniques, showcasing the cultural heritage in modern fashion.

Heel Customization:

Handmade:
Because we use natural materials, there might be slight differences in size. Each item is uniquely handmade, so the actual product may vary a bit from the photos.

Production Method:
Haute Couture: Our products are made-to-order, which means they might take more than a month to create.
・The more you use the all-leather products, the more they will shine and develop character.
・The insole and inner upper are made with foam sheets commonly used in sneakers, ensuring comfort and a snug fit as they mold to your feet over time.
